Where Clifford truly excels is being a best friend, pet, and heart horse. He is also a more than passible trail riding horse, a great bareback halter blanket ride, and always good for a nap with his head in her lap. Clifford cheerfully competes in the halter and showmanship with the beginner kids that have come through our barn helping them catch the horse show bug by putting those first ribbons on the wall. There aren’t too many horses more secure in their 401K plan than Clifford.
I am so proud of this young mare!! Thanks to AHACO for the awards! I had a great time and was so surprised that Bailey was awarded the H/A super horse champion award! Bailey and I have a great village, Karen Henschel, Brianna York, Laura Venne, Noel Collins, Blake Powell, Izzy Olsen, Mary Thorp, Jim Crotts, Tracy Pierce and Marv Ramsey! Marv is no longer with us but he helped me start this mare and we miss him💔 I want to thank you all for all of your guidance, support, friendship and encouragement💜
This year's Super Horse Winner is the lovely and kind Dakars Magic BFS. Owned and shown by the Dockery family, this wonderful horse exemplifies everything that the Super Horse Award stands for. He was the only horse who competed for high points last year who even came close to meeting the mark. This impressive horse is as talented as he is beautiful. Congratulations to the Dockery family and to "Max"!
Super proud of my old horse Bubby! Won Super Horse for 2019! Thanks so much Kelly Holder for helping me become the rider I am today!

Age division and Discipline winners will be awarded Champion, Reserve Champion, and Top 5. These results will be posted online on the AHACO Facebook page. The High Point Chairperson will email all Champion and Reserve Champion winners regarding awards. Awards will be presented at the Annual Celebration and Meeting in January of the upcoming year.
What disciplines earn points?
The disciplines we currently award are: Hunter, Western, Halter, Sport Horse Under Saddle, Sport Horse In Hand, Western Dressage, Dressage, Specialty, Working Western, and Open Shows. Disciplines may be added or combined at the discretion of the Board of Directors and based on participation. Disciplines with fewer than 2 participants may be combined with other appropriate disciplines that have low participation.
How are points calculated?
All Breed English and Western- 1 point per horse placed after you to 6th place (3rd out of 11 = 8 points) In scored events points are only awarded for participation after 7th place, so if you’re 13th out of 30 you get 1 point.
Rated Breed Show or Rated All Breed Specialty Show - Guaranteed points to 5 places (5-4-3-2-1) with additional points awarded in classes larger than 5 horses. You earn one point for every horse you beat. Participation is awarded 1 point for completing a class at a rated show, so long as the class is reflected on official AHA results. Scottsdale, Regional, National Show - Champion 25, Reserve 15, Top 5/10 10
Age Division Awards:
We award prizes Champion through Top 5 in the following age divisions: youth and adult. The same rules, dates, and point system applies to these awards. These divisions can be divided or combined as participation indicates.
Nominated Awards:
Competitors in this division are nominated by club members and selected by the board of directors. Nominations are due at the same date, December 1 of the year being counted.
AHACO Super Horse - Some horses are truly super heroes! These horses compete in multiple divisions, in hand, and in pattern classes. Each year one Purebred and one Half-Arabian horse will be named a Super Horse. Winners are based on total points earned in a competitive year. The Purebred and Half Arabian horses who meet the stated criteria and have the highest number of points will be named Super Horses. This is a privately sponsored award, so each year the prizes will vary based on the Sponsor.
